Date of entry into force of the instrument: 1 March 1998.

Date of ratification: 12 February 2009. Date of entry into force in respect of Poland : 1 June 2009.

POLAND

Declarations contained in the instrument of ratification deposited on 12 February 2009 – Or. Engl.

The Republic of Poland declares, in accordance with Article 3, paragraph 1, of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages that, within the meaning of the Charter, minorities languages in the Republic of Poland are: Belorussian, Czech, Hebrew, Yiddish, Karaim, Kashub, Lithuanian, Lemko, German, Armenian, Romani, Russian, Slovak, Tatar and Ukrainian.

The regional language is the Kashub language. The national minorities languages are Belorussian, Czech, Hebrew, Yiddish, Lithuanian, German, Armenian, Russian, Slovak and Ukrainian. The ethnic minorities languages are Karaim, Lemko, Romani and Tatar. The non-territorial languages are Hebrew, Yiddish, Karaim, Armenian and Romani.

The Republic of Poland declares that it shall apply the Charter in accordance with the Act on national and ethnic minorities and on regional language, dated 6 January 2005.

The Republic of Poland declares, in accordance with Article 2, paragraph 2 of the Charter, that the following provisions of Part III of the Charter will be applied for the languages listed above:

POLOGNE

Déclarations consignées dans l'instrument de ratification déposé le 12 février 2009 – Or. angl.

La République de Pologne déclare, conformément à l'article 3, paragraphe 1, de la Charte européenne des langues régionales ou minoritaires que, au sens de la Charte, les langues des minorités en République de Pologne sont les suivantes : le biélorusse, le tchèque, l‘hébreu, le yiddish, le karaïm, le kachoube, le lituanien, le lemk, l'allemand, l'arménien, le romani, le russe, le slovaque, le tatar et l‘ukrainien.

La langue régionale est la langue kachoube. Les langues des minorités nationales sont le biélorusse, le tchèque, l‘hébreu, le yiddish, le lituanien, l‘allemand, l‘arménien, le russe, le slovaque et l‘ukrainien. Les langues des minorités ethniques sont le karaïm, le lemk, le romani et le tatar. Les langues non territoriales sont l'hébreu, le yiddish, le karaïm, l'arménien et le romani.

La République de Pologne déclare qu'elle appliquera la Charte conformément à la Loi relative aux minorités nationales et ethniques et à la langue régionale, en date du 6 Janvier 2005.

La République de Pologne déclare, conformément à l'article 2, paragraphe 2 de la Charte, que les dispositions suivantes de la Partie III de la Charte seront appliquées pour les langues énumérées ci-dessus :
